Written by Believe it or not, this next lesson is just as basic as the first two, but somehow, still so hard to answer. “What do I like?” How can that be hard to know about myself? Well, the problem was, I liked what other people liked, I put my needs aside for others. It didn’t matter what I liked, so why bother? So, I ended up being 48 years old asking myself what I liked and finding it hard to answer.
Your Assignment:
What do I like?
If you know, great! Write it out. If not, sit on it for a while until some ideas come to you. It can be as basic as it needs to be to get it started. “I like the color red”. It doesn’t have to be my favorite, I just like it. Keep writing until you can’t think of anything else. It doesn’t have to make sense or be spelled correctly. Just write.
My Writings:
I like so many things! Different kinds of music, depending on the mood. Different foods, places, ideas, concepts, theories, opinions, and explorations.
I like a little of everything while I’m not an expert at anything. I can at least participate with my level of understanding.
I like to make things better. I’ve been on a lifetime quest to improve my family line so its a great feeling to accomplish the goals I set for myself.
I like taking care of people’s needs and making them feel loves and satisfied. I like being generous with my time and resources.
I like everything to be in it’s place and have what I need.
This was all I wrote, but I feel like it says a lot and really shows more of who I am. I don’t think I realized at the time how this process flowed from one lesson to the next. What did you learn about yourself that you might not have realized before?
