Once we’ve reached the point of no return in our lives, that dramatic or inconsequential last straw, you have the potential to never be the same.
The final breaking point is different for everyone, but for me, it was a marriage falling apart and then realizing it was never a marriage to begin with. To move on from that, I had to face my own part in the dance and give up the mask in exchange for true healing. Once that healing started to happen, the avalanche of all my life’s trauma followed. Although it has been painfully beautiful, I would recommend the healing journey to anyone.
The Healing Journey
The healing journey could be the true cure to our incurable illnesses.
We have heard that autoimmune disorders and other illnesses can be caused from stress and toxic environments. Most of us can recall times of abuse, or at least neglectful treatment by someone who was supposed to love and care for us, only to betray us in the end. Still others of us added to that with being hurt by total strangers, being involved in an accident, and many other situations that shape our trauma into the monster that lurks within.
This monster continues to live as long as you keep feeding it. And the hardest part is to realize you actually are feeding it, and nurturing it, making sure it stays unhealed, eating you from the inside out. I think this is why our bodies end up attacking us, because we are the threat against our own wellbeing. Our unwillingness to expose the truth, heal the wounds, and make better choices moving forward seems to be the perpetuating existence that is trauma and eventually, illness.
What to Expect
I’m not a doctor, so I don’t have medical expertise, but I’ve lived it. The following posts will be my reflections as I opened up to who I wanted to be, and who I always was behind the mask of trauma. These posts will not go into the details my personal life story because I’ve healed from that and I don’t want to give it anymore glory than it deserves. Trauma is trauma and it all hurts the same for some reason.
What you will read in the following posts are the insights, the “whys”, the concepts of bringing Biblical, life, and world experiences together to grow and awaken to a true mind, body, and soul healing. I will have a section for “Your Assignment” if you would like to use the prompts for yourself. I hope you can take away lessons I’ve learned to help your own healing journey.
May you find peace in the storm
Disclaimer: If you haven’t guessed by now, this blog will go beyond the gluten free journey and into the depths of true healing. I will share my writings as I explored my core wounds and came out on the other side. I am a Christian, so God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and the Bible will be in my writings. It is not intended to persuade you in anyway, only to share my truth.
